When the folks at Instant Pot asked me if I’d like to host an Electric Pressure Cooker Giveaway for their Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker, I jumped at the chance. The Instant Pot Duo is a great pressure cooker and I’m excited that one of my readers is going to win one just in time for Christmas!

The first thing I thought of when I saw all the buttons on the Instant Pot is, “Wow, this looks a bit like all the buttons in my car…….if I can learn how to run all of those without pulling over, I certainly can learn to use this.”
Seriously though, I am interested in learning to cook with a pressure cooker because it seems like it would be healthy. I’m diabetic and I’ve been trying a crock pot. That takes some planning, peeling, timing, and I end up with enough food for an army. I’m looking for something quicker because after working all day, my evenings are spent with my Mom. She’s elderly and in a nursing home.
Win or not, I’m interested in this post….it is apt to help get me started on this new venture. I haven’t explored it all yet because I thought I may as well enter! Thanks.
I’m convinced – pressure cooking is going to change my life! Can’t wait to get an Instapot and get started on some of these delicious looking recipes 🙂

I can remember cooking with my Mom when I was younger and using a stove top pressure cooker (that my Mom still uses!) I use a pressure canner but would love to be able to use one in my day to day cooking! Thanks for the great info!

Just started using an old stovetop pressure cooker my MiL gave me years ago… (I was terrified of even the thought of it.)… now I love pressure cooking after only a couple weeks! This is the first I have heard about the Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker. I have been using pressure cookers for three years and I’ve always purchased them from the Infomercials is there an infomercial for this cooker as well?

I love that it comes with a stainless steel pot rather than nonstick. That’s one reason I would only buy an Instant Pot.

I have a subscription to Pressure Cooking Today. Love pressure cooking my electric pressure cooker is 8 years old and has been used at least two times a week would love to receive a instant pot I am intrigued that it also makes yogurt.
My neighbor is always posting pictures on Facebook of things she made in her Instant Pot. I would like to try it myself.
It seems pretty cool but my concern is if I were to make rice and stew beef for example, there is only 1 pot. Should I steam my rice and have to transfer it to another container before I can make my stew beef? Having said that, I’d love to give it a try for free~ thank you.

As a renal dietitian, I purchased two Instant Pots (6 quart) one to raffle off as a fund raiser for National Kidney Foundation and the other for myself to practice. Having an Instant Pot helped. me learn how to use a pressure cooker to decrease phosphorous load in foods and help educate patients in it’s use. Using a digital pressure cookery is easy in comparasion to manual pressure cooker. Reducing phosphorous load is good for everyone including people with kidney disease. Use of Instant Pot allows one to prepare healthy foods fast, tasty and green. For me, it is now was essential kitchen tool.

It was such a coincidence that I now see this post. I happened to go onto Amazon on Black Friday….and saw the Insta-Pot for $78.00 My old workhorse PC is still going strong, but my husband said “it has wear and tear”, just buy this one. My fingers flew across the keyboard. I am so very excited to have TWO pressure cookers…but this one, I think, will be my go-to. It’ s smaller, and I love all the features. This would be a a great appliance for a old horse, to learn some thing new. In turn try different foods, and keep the mind working.
I grew up with my Mom a pressure cooker and as a young bride in 1973 I continued patiently re-adjusting the stove top burners to get the right jiggles. In 2001 I upgraded to an electric pressure cooker by Farberware & now looking to upgrade! Especially this model so I can eliminate a few of my other cooking items as I now live & travel the USA in an RV and would love the extra space! A few people in this RV park are interested in using electric pressure cookers, I may just be teaching and sharing your info!

Just dicovered your website I think the instant pot would make my life much easier for cooking meals!. I love the recipes I have seen. I’m SO excited to try an IP!!! My husband doesn’t like to eat meat, but I’m a total carnivore. I think this will be a really nice way for me to be able to cook meat while he cooks up the rest of the meals (he’s usually the cook of the house).

I love my instant pot. I will be in a panic if something happens to it.
I have used this pressure cooker. It is wonderful, so easy and much more silent than stovetop pressure cookers. You can also set it, walk away and return hours later to a dish that is cooked, hot, and waiting for you, because it turns off the pressure cooking automatically and the keeps the food warm.

Have been an avid subscriber to Pressure Cooking Today since I got my Instant Pot. Love the modern recipes, and the ones that I’ve tried have worked beautifully.
An instant pot is essential for a busy family to keep home cooking on the table. Between the instant pot, crock pot, and auto-bake on the oven, I come home to a ready dinner every night. I have a large family, and a second instant pot would replace the uneven slow cooker.
I would love to have an Instant Pot.
I will be undergoing sutgery and need something to prepare meals faet and convenient. A friend of mine received an instant pot for Christmas from her kids last year, and she loves it. I think this would be perfect for me.

I love the idea of browning my meat, onion, etc. in the same pot that I want to pressure cook in. What a time saver that would be. I have always wanted to can left overs. A jar in the pantry would be so much easier to find than a plastic bag in the freezer!

I have a Cuisinart Electric pressure cooker that I got after your recommendation. I like the non-stick pot but I have not tried nor seen anyone use the Instant Pot

I have a Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker. In fact, in one year I have had two units fail each at approximately 6 months. The timer fails to start when pressure is reached and the pressure button rises, it starts either before the button rises or after. I had to pay shipping charges to get my second unit, what kind of warranty is that???? Their units are failing and they charge the customer for shipping the replacement!!!

I use my IP almost daily. From main dishes, rice, beans, yogurt the list is endless.
The stainless steel liner was the biggest selling point for me originally and along with all the functions it can`t be beat.

I have a manual pressure cooker and love it. I think I spent around 200 bucks for it at Hendrix (Canadian restaurant supply outlet) and what a great investment. Of course like the reduced cooking times BUT the taste of the food is ….. Not sure of the proper adjective …but man is it good.
Also delighted to have found this website and have used many of the recipes. I have yet to try “baked goods” in it but many mains and sides

The Instant Pot is one of my favorite appliances. I have an older version that serves as a pressure cooker and yogurt maker. Those operations are at opposite ends of the cooking spectrum and demonstrate the versatility of the Instant Pot. Upgrading to a programmable model would escalate its usefulness and promote food prep experimentation. Now the Instant Pot is not only useful, but a source of entertainment as well.

So glad there’s an Instant Pot giveaway. I now live in a retirement community where we have just a hint of a kitchen. There’s a little cabinet space, a sink and a small refrigerator – but no stove. Oh, how I wish I could be lucky enough to win this. I’ve been wanting one so much, just waiting to catch up on hospital bills for DH’s major surgery.
I love the fact that it can be used for so many things! You don’t need a stove top as the Insta Pot will do that for you. You can slow cook also. It has so many uses in one! Thank you Barbara for sharing its many uses with me.
A couple of months ago I purchased an Instant Pot & fell madly in love, big time. I purchased the 6 qt. thinking it would be large enough for two & yet I find myself wishing now I’d purchased the 7 qt. I have owned this instant pot for about 6 months and I just love it. I use it at least five times a week, it stays on my counter. Yes, please I’d love to win the insta pot! I only recently found this site, but I’m loving it. I had started out 15 years ago with a simple aluminum pressure cooker. Next, I went to an electric one by Emeril. I loved it, but I felt a stainless steel stove top model was the way to go. I’ve never looked back. Winning this would help me to eat healthier since I’m retiring next year and want to start to make my own yogurt. I made a pumpkin cheesecake for Thanksgiving this year that I’m sure will be a hit.

What a treat. I have cooked with a pressure cooker for years. have had success and some major messes for not watching heat an scraping beans off the ceiling in the kitchen and stove when valve blew. Bit I was young then and know now what a treat an electric one could be.

Morning, I’d fist like to say that I purchased one of these AWESOME PC’s about 6 months ago. It has been the best gadget I’ve purchased in years. It saves me so much time cooking during the week for my family that I have become a self appointed spokes person for the company. So with that said, If I win this pot I will be donating it to my sister who’s recently divorced, works a full time job & has 3 kids at home and one on a LDS mission. She’s struggling to say the least and wants so much to get one of these but just can’t afford it. I’d love to buy one for her but it’s not in my budget right now either. I absolutely love this PC! I am disabled & cannot stand for any length of time. This has been a Godsend for me. I am able to have meals that I used to spend hours in the kitchen making.
