Creamy Pressure Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
A hearty, spicy tomato based, creamy chicken soup topped with tortilla chips, queso blanco and sour cream. A perfect way to use up those last tomatoes and peppers from the garden.
The Rocky Mountain Woman and I have been blogging friends for years now. In fact, I tried to find the first comment Barb ever left me and discovered she’s commented on 122 posts on Barbara Bakes. I love to visit Rocky Mountain Woman for her great story telling ability and the sophisticated twist she gives her recipes.
When I started Pressure Cooking Today, Barb left me a comment saying she is an AVID pressure cooker person. Living at a high altitude in the Rocky Mountains, she thinks a pressure cooker is indispensable.
Luckily, when I asked if she would like to do a guest post or have a recipe featured on Pressure Cooking Today she agreed. She created a delicious Creamy Chicken Tortilla Soup recipe perfect for the chilly fall weather we’re having.

Hi Barbara,
I hesitate to question a recipe from a guest blogger on your website, but I have concerns about the timing in this recipe. I’m pretty sure that 20 minutes is too long for the chicken (isn’t 10-12 minutes closer to the mark?). I’m also wondering why the veggies are cooked for 20 minutes after they’ve already been softened up. Have you made this lately, and is the timing correct?
The link is not working (still/again?) From what I can tell her whole site is down 🙁
Hi Brooke – I visited her site a few weeks ago, perhaps she is just having technical difficulties today. Sorry.
Just to give you a heads up, the link for the recipe no longer works. However she does still have the recipe on her website! Thought you might want to update the link!!! Wonderful recipe!
Thanks for the heads up Abby – I’ve updated the links.
This looks SO good!!

Thanks for the follow Jenny! Enjoy the recipe.
Love the sound of this (and I’d have to make it on a day when I was ignoring my diet so I could have the chips!)
Thanks Kalyn! I love the extra texture a few chips give a soup. Definitely worth the splurge.
Soup weather is here in New England-this looks so good. Thank you Barbara AND Barb! 🙂
Thanks Carol! Please let me know if you give it a try.
