Hi Bonnie – when you turn the pressure release valve around in a circle, you can feel it rise up when it’s in the steam release position. You may want to put a dot of fingernail polish in that spot. As long as it’s not in the release position, it should build pressure, including when the notice is lined up with the arrow.
